Hi, I’m Steph!

I’m a musician, writer, and counselor-in-training.

After growing up and spending the first chapter of my career up and down the California coast, immersed in the music business while simultaneously developing my creative skills as an artist, audio editor, engineer, and writer, I found that the underlying passion that drove it all for me was in soaking up the awe-filled human experience - both by transforming it into story and song, and by walking beside others as a guide and fellow traveler as they move through life's cycles.

Now with roots in North County San Diego and San Francisco, I’m pursuing my Masters in Clinical Counseling and training with Hospice of the North Coast’s Hope Bereavement Center, with a practice informed currently by Existential, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative, Expressive Arts, Somatic, and Mindfulness therapies.

I create music as Lucky Lamond, and am lucky to contribute to Backline’s work building a mentally healthier music industry; I also co-host and co-produce the Women of NAMM podcast ReVoicing the Future.

The Unpaved Roads Substack

My writing (and the occasional musical demo or piano improv!) lives on Substack, where I’m often writing about something existential, pouring out my thoughts on the music industry, breaking down songs, how I think systems thinking can heal our world, and learning from nature’s interconnectedness.

Listen to Lucky Lamond

My music as Lucky Lamond weaves elements of traditional Folk, Americana, and classic foot-stomping, clap-along storytelling to celebrate my identities and the human experience. I believe that by telling the stories that make us who we are, we free those coming after to be all they can be.
